THE PLAYERS TOURNAMENT RULES

The Players Tournament will take place during the November monthly Tournament. Any Honors Club Members may participate in the November tournament for normal tournament prizes. Those club members who have competed in five Honors Club Tournaments during the course of the year and have participated in the Big Show and/or Free Ride may also compete in the Players Tournament. This is a tournament within a tournament. The following tournaments will count towards the five qualifying tournaments:

1. January Tournament
2. February Tournament
3. March Tournament
4. May Tournament
5. July Tournament
6. August Tournament
7. September Tournament - First day portion of our Club Championship
8. September Tournament - Second day portion of our Club Championship
9. October Tournament

The following tournaments do not count towards qualifying for the Players Tournament:

1. Any WSGA Tournament to include the WSGA Annual Tournament in June of each year.
2. The Honors Golf Club's Annual Tournament, The Pacific Desert Classic.
3. The Honors November Tournament in which the Players Tournament is held. A player who takes first place in their flight (either low gross or low net) in the November tournament does not qualify for the Champions Challenge Game.

A member who has played in five or more tournaments during the course of the year but has not participated in either the Big Show or the Free Ride Games may only compete for one half of the designated Player Tournament Prizes. Members may purchase a missed tournament for $25.00 and two tournaments for $40.00 on the day of the Players Tournament. The Free Ride may be purchased for $20.00 on the day of the Players Tournament. The players tournament will be so constructed that each player will be a prize winner.

Prize money for the Players Tournament will be derived in the following manner. As part of the entry fee for each monthly tournament, a $5.00 allotment will be set aside for each participating player for the Players Tournament. The Total Players Pot will be the sum of the $5.00 allotments from each monthly tournament plus that potion of the Free Ride and Big Show Games left over after paying off the game winners. The cut off for funds for the Players Tournament will be the November Players Tournament. This will determine the Players Tournament Pot, to include the funds collected to purchase additional tournaments and the free ride game. 10% of this pot will go into the club treasury.

Because the November Tournament is not counted towards qualifying for the Players Tournament the $5.00 set aside for the Players Tournament will not be charged. Fifty percent of the of the funds left over from the Players Tournament after all pots have been paid out will be rolled over into the new Players Tournament pot for the following year.
