The 2020 SCGA Team Play playoffs, set to begin March 19, have been placed on 'hold' according to the SCGA due to the governmental mandate regarding health concerns.
The Brookside Thursday Team led by Dave Hickman and the Saturday Cardinal Team led by Ed Kelly have both qualified for the playoffs.
To recap: Hickman organized and guided the Thursday squad to a 4 - 0 record in Division 25 and they were set to play Red Hill CC on the 19th to open the SCGA Team Play Playoffs.
Kelly, playing some of the best golf of the entire squad, led his team of veterans to a gritty 2 -1 -1 record in Division 21 of the Saturday bracket. As a result of their resolve, the SCGA afforded them a first round bye in the single elimination playoffs. They were set to play the winner of Westlake and La Canada CC on March 28, but are now in a wait and see pattern with all other So Cal golf clubs.
