TLLGC General Meeting Minutes – 1/7/20

Members Present – 35

President Deb Wadsworth called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. She asked for approval of the November minutes.  Sally moved to approve and Theresa seconded.  Motion passed.

Deb announced that there would be no script used in 2020.  All SDCGA and Publinks winnings will be paid in cash.

General meetings will be help on the 1st Tuesday of every month.

Debbie Kornegay circulated the budget and asked for approval.  Sally moved to accept the budget and Mary seconded.  Budget was approved.

Donna announced the game schedule.

First Tuesday of the month – Scramble

2nd Tuesday – Game and you can request partners

3rd Tuesday – Low Gross and Low Net

4th Tuesday – Game and you can request Partners

Donna introduced the ACE tournament which will be the low net winner each month.  At the beginning of the next year there will be an Ace of Aces tournament.

Hole In One club will continue with $5.00 fee.

Meg announced the Ringer, Birdie and Chip In winners.

Nancy Dubay announced the raffle winners.

Jami announced the San Diego County events.

Nancy announced some of the Publinks tournaments.  The first one is at Legends on February 13th.  Entries need to be mailed by January 13th.

Becky announced that the services for Barbara Tolle will be held on February 29th. No location designated as yet.

Glenna introduced the new world handicap system. Summary of her presentation is following:

Download new GHIN App if yours was not automatically updated.

The new App will allow you to post a score hole by hole and will automatically make any necessary adjustments to your score.

Other important changes:

Handicap index is updated daily. The tournament chair will use the weekly Friday handicaps for our games.

Handicap index is based on the best 8 scores of the last 20.

A new ‘Playing Conditions Calculation’ will adjust scores based on weather conditions that may have affected play.

Post your most likely score if picking up.  It cannot exceed the maximum score of net double bogey and is subject to course difficulty and player ability.

A rule of thumb is:

Less than 5 feet add one stroke.

5-20 feet add 2-3 strokes.

Greater than 20 feet add 3-4 strokes.

Post net par if you don’t play a hole. (Par plus pops)

Maximum score for posting is now Net Double Bogey which is calculated by adding PAR plus double bogey and the number of Net pops you receive on a hole.

All golf courses rate each hold by difficulty found in the Hdcp line item on the score card. The most difficult hole is numbered 1 on up to the easiest hole numbered 18.

The difficulty of each hole determines how many net points (pops) you receive on the hole based on your individual handicap for that course.

Handicap cards should be popped by the players before the game to assist with determining what adjustments may need to be done before the score is posted.

The handicap chair will review the posted scores and correct any errors.

Ruth Wood moved that the bunker fund be increased to 25 cents.  Motion seconded by Diane.  Motion passed.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:57 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Sally Harper,  Secretaryv
