The $125 of this tournament covers potentially 5 rounds of golf. Players are only guaranteed 2 rounds during the qualifier (Round 1 on Harding and Round 2 on Wilson). If you make the cut, you move onto matchplay where you could end up playing an additional 3 rounds based on your performance. No additional entry fees or greens fees will be collected for any matchplay rounds.
Players need to have competed in 3 prior 2019 events to qualify for the Club Championship.
2018 Club Champions are exempt within their 2019 flight to the matchplay Club Championship portion of the event, but may also still compete in the qualifying rounds to collect Charlie Chaplin Cup points.
Top 7 places in each flight qualifies for matchplay or top 8 if there is no defending champion in that flight.
Please do not request partners or tee times for this event. Players will be paired by handicap. Championship flight will go out first on Saturday and then we will flip flights Sunday, however we will re-pair the foursomes within each flight based on the standings after the first round.
Slow play will not be tolerated.
Any player may elect to compete in the Championship flight, which does not use handicaps. Winner of this flight is considered the overall 2019 Club Champion and will have their name engraved on the Marty Tregnan trophy in the club house. If your handicap is higher than 4, please indicate in the comments box if you are electing to play in the championship flight. All players with indexes lower than 4 will be placed into the championship flight, but again it is open to all players of all handicaps. Players with indexes lower than 4 may still play in the flighted competition if they choose, by indicating so in the comments box.
Net flights will be using your year low SCGA index or a GPGC tournament index if it is lower than your SCGA index. Winners of each flight will be sent to the annual SCGA Tournament of Club Champions, paid for by the club. In addition, all club champions receive a handsome script payout and free 2020 GPGC membership.
Championship and A flights will play from the black tees. B flight and higher will play from blue tees, except women who will play from white tees. Flight thresholds will be determined once the field is full.
No script prizes will be given out for the qualifying rounds, but we will still hold a gross and net skins competetion each day. |
