GENERAL INFORMATION
For 2010 All GPGC members will belong to SCGA (Southern Calif. Golf Association) and may add PLGA (Public Links Golf Association)for an additional fee of $5.00.
Members will use the same membership number for both organizations. Current members (2009 members) who renew by 11/20, will be charged $110 for SCGA or $115.00 when adding PLGA for 2010, while new club members and current but late (after 11/20) renewals will be charged $125 for SCGA or $130 when adding PLGA. New members receive a "welcome package" and late renewals are charged a pain in the butt fee for the extra work required to reinstate them.
The decision to have all members belong to SCGA and to allow members to add PLGA for only $5.00 was made as an effort to satisfy the feelings of the membership. Some members felt that belonging to both was an unnecessary duplication of services while other saw the many benefits received for such a small additional cost. These include but are not limited to the following:
SCGA - over 100 tournament days/year -open to all members who meet the index requirement for the particular event, FORE magazine (sent 6X/year), the So. CA. Golf Course Directory ($15.00 Value), Discounted golf at the SCGA Course (plus one 1/2 off round), as well as discounts at the Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge Courses in NorCal., Semi Weekly E-News, SCGA Specials including Monday meet and play at Local Private Courses (open to all members), and a $15.00 Gift card for Roger Dunn Golf Shops.
PLGA offers many of the above specials as well as dozens of Tournaments open to all their members, including: the Nevada Open, the 2 day Coronado Classic in San Diego, the Laughlin Open, PLGA Amature Championship, the 2 day J.C. Cunningham Senior Championship, the Ken Smith Dessert Classic, Partners Better Ball and Club Team Play Events. They also have their Association Day Tournaments which are held at a different Course each month and are open to all members. More information can be found on each organization's website.
